We ship to most states. As shipping alcohol is complicated, we suggest trying to purchase when you see something you would like to buy (if we can ship to your state/ZIP code, then the order will go through). Our ability to ship wine to your location depends on the licenses held by our wine producers and the shipping laws of the receiving state. TITLE & OWNERSHIP
Wine for the Reception is an online marketplace providing consumers with amazing deals on high-quality wines. We do not hold any alcoholic beverage licenses in any state, and we do not buy or sell wine directly. We source wines from licensed producers and importers, and we coordinate the sale and delivery of wine from those licensees to our customers. Whenever possible, shipments to our customers are made pursuant to the winery’s permit to ship wine directly to the consumer under the laws of the consumer’s state of residence.
If our suppliers are not able to ship wine to you directly under the laws of your state, the supplier will complete a sale to you in the State of California, and Wine for the Reception will assist you in importing your wine to your residence. In the latter case, title to and ownership of all wine passes from the licensed supplier to the purchaser in the State of California, and the purchaser takes all responsibility for the import of the package from California to his/her home state. Wine for the Reception is providing a service to, and acting on behalf of, the purchaser. By utilizing this service from Wine for the Reception, the purchaser is representing that he/she is acting in a fashion compliant with his/her local and state laws regarding the purchase, transportation and delivery of wine.
By placing an order with Wine for the Reception, the purchaser authorizes Wine for the Reception to act on the purchaser's behalf to engage a common carrier to deliver the purchaser's order. The purchaser represents that he/she has obtained all required permissions, paid all required fees, is working through properly licensed intermediaries, is legally entitled to take possession of wine, is legally entitled to take quantities ordered, and authorizes that he/she is 21 years of age.
Wine for the Reception makes no warranties or representations regarding the legal rights of anyone to ship or import alcoholic beverages into any state outside of California.
HOW DOES THE SHIPPING WORK?
We ship to most states and include the cost of shipping on all orders placed two weeks prior to your selected delivery date. This allows us to take advantage of low shipping costs and pass that on to you, our consumer.
WHAT DO YOU MEAN BY "SELECT MY DELIVERY DATE”?
We suggest that you select your target delivery date to be at least two weeks prior to your special event. Shipping is included on all transactions made two weeks prior to your selected delivery date. This allows us favorable shipping, and we can pass this on to our customers. Basically, this means ordering about a month in advance of your event. This is our recommended approach to ensure optimal delivery for your special event so that you can make sure your order arrives in plenty of time for your reception.
Please note: You can order as close as two weeks before your event, and the shipping cost will still be included in the price, but this leaves very little room in the rare case that there is an issue. We also offer rush shipping for an additional cost.
CAN I GET MY WINE ORDER RUSHED TO MY DOOR?
YES! Just select the rush shipping option in your shopping cart; there will be an additional cost for rush shipping. We will do everything possible to meet your delivery date. Shipping will be calculated depending on your needs.
WILL MY ENTIRE WINE ORDER COME ON THE SAME DAY?
Our wine is sourced from the best wineries around the world, so it is possible that your order will contain wines from more than one winery. The wineries may ship on different days, so your order may arrive on two different days, but we do our very best to hit the same day on your targeted week. Weather may also be a contributing factor to what day your wine arrives. As mentioned, we will do our very best to hit your selected delivery date, but know that it may deliver within the delivery date week.
WHAT ABOUT THE WEATHER IMPACTING MY WINE DURING SHIPMENT?
We always watch the weather and plan for a climate-safe delivery. All orders will be stored in a temperature-controlled facility until we decide to ship to hit your target date/week. This is why we recommend selecting a target date/week at least two weeks prior to your scheduled event. This allows us to skirt weather issues and adjust our shipping accordingly. We take great pride in the quality of our wine and only want the very best for your event!
WHAT IF I WON'T BE HOME ON THE DATE MY WINE IS SET TO ARRIVE?
If you are concerned about not being home when your wine arrives, you have two options. Simply have a neighbor (21 years or older) watch for the delivery truck, or go to the shipping center near you to pick it up. The delivery person/driver will leave a note at your home that he was there; you can go pick up your wine then, or the driver will attempt to deliver it two more times. Last, many people decide to have their wine shipped to their office where they know someone who is 21 years of age will always be present to receive their shipment. WE CANNOT DELIVER WINE WITHOUT OBTAINING THE SIGNATURE OF A PERSON 21 YEARS OF AGE OR OLDER.
WHAT HAPPENS IF I AM NOT SATISFIED WITH AN ORDER THAT I RECEIVE?
We stand behind every bottle we sell, so never worry. If you are not satisfied with your order in any way, please contact Customer Service at [email protected]. We will help you handle your return. We ask that you return the entire case as well as what is remaining in the bottle with which you are not satisfied. This will help us determine what went wrong with your shipment.
You must be 21 years of age or older to buy wine online from WinefortheReception.com. All packages require a signature from someone 21 years of age or older upon delivery. It is highly recommended that you provide us with a business shipping address for the best service. Unfortunately, customer comments on your order, such as "Please leave on back porch" or "Leave at front door," cannot be honored. Your wine will be returned to WinefortheReception.com, where we are unable to refund any shipping charges because there was no adult to sign for your purchase.
